The Science Behind QWO
Cellulite consists of two main aspects: fibrous collagen septae and the fat cells that they constrict in the dermal layer. These create the dimpling appearance on the skin that people refer to as cellulite.
QWO contains tremothamine, mannitol, and hydrochloric acid, and its main ingredient is collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes, an enzyme that breaks down type 1 and type 3 collagen fibers. When QWO is injected into the septae, they break down, releasing their constricted fat cells. Skin regains its smooth appearance.
The QWO treatment process also encourages new collagen protein formation, which improves skin quality and skin health.
Ideal Candidates for QWO Treatment
QWO injections are an excellent option for most adult women, since the treatment process is very simple. However, if you are allergic to collagenase, have a skin infection in the buttocks region, are pregnant/lactating, or have a pre-existing condition affecting clotting, you may not be an ideal candidate. Your QWO Consultation
Patients come in for a consultation before their treatment in order to ensure that it is right for them. As part of this, patients will go over their complete medical history, including any medications currently being taken, any allergies, and any past procedures.
Your skin expert will go over the QWO treatment process in detail. They will ask you about your goals and will answer any questions you may have.
Before treatment, patients must avoid NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and supplements that result in blood thinning. This helps to prevent excessive bruising or bleeding.
Your QWO Treatment Session
QWO injection treatments are quite simple. Typically, a single session only takes 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes even less.
At the start, the areas where cellulite is present will be carefully marked as a guide for the injections. QWO injections will then be administered to these sites. Up to 12 injections are delivered per buttock. Pain is minimal, and no anesthesia is required.
After Your QWO Treatment
Once your QWO treatment session is complete, you will immediately be able to return to your daily schedule. No downtime or recovery time will be needed, unlike with surgical procedures.
Just like with any injections, bruising and swelling may be present at the injection sites for a time. These will fade shortly.
After a few weeks have passed, you will be able to see the results of the treatment. These results will improve over time.
Typically, patients come in for around three treatment sessions. Patients must wait 21 days between each QWO session.
